What They Say About The Ice Man's Boot Camp
2/5/07
I just spent a couple days at the Iceman's boot camp and I want to thank Iceman and his staff for the hospitality and for sharing his time and expertise with me. I also want to tell anyone who is considering a visit to know the following: Make sure you have gone through the entire website and familiarized yourself with what it contains. Read up on the educational section, upgrades/downgrades area and make sure you have a good understanding of the basics of trading. This is not a "classroom" type atmosphere where you will get guidance on what is expected of you. Ask lots of questions, LISTEN closely to all that is going on around you while sitting in on the Iceman's trading day and be prepared to work!
Regardless of your previous trading experience, you will learn important lessons about what is necessary to be a successful trader. I have over 20 years experience trading and investing. I came with the purpose of determining if ICS.net was a legit site and more importantly to meet the man behind the tag name of Iceman. Make no mistake about his trading acumen. I have traded with and for numerous professionals in the business with mountains of money under management. I can tell you without reservation that Iceman is as good as any and better than most at trading and more importantly, preparation for trading. Iceman puts in a minimum of 2 hours prior to and 3 to 4 hours after the market closes, studying charts, news and research from a variety of sources. He is constantly in search of the stocks that will perform best in any given market condition. His ability to separate emotion from trading decisions is superior.
You will see how and why the Iceman enters and exits positions and how he makes the trading calls he makes. You will learn how to take full advantage of the many opportunities that exist on a hourly and daily basis utilizing the "updates" that are posted pre-market and throughout the trading day. All in all, it will enhance your skills, whatever your level may be, and you will likely go away with a new found appreciation for what Icecoldstocks is all about. As many others have noted here, Iceman's method of communication is direct, raw and brutally honest. He doesn't sugar coat anything even to his friends so be prepared for constructive criticism that is to the point. Good luck!

Iceman,
Thank you for the three day boot camp. I appreciate your generosity and the insights you provided in a relatively short amount of time. I feel I just scratched the surface. Nonetheless, enough was gathered during those days to positively alter and enhance my approach to the markets. And many aspects of what was experienced go beyond trading the markets, having applicability to other business and professional activities. Key themes included a) discipline, b) hard work, c) clarity of action, d) precision, and, e) communication. I definitely commend your boot camp to others seeking insights and profits.

I've just returned from the Boot Camp Intensive at the Ice Man's estate and I will take my experience there and draw from it for the rest of my life. I went expecting to learn something more about trading and I left with my life and my outlook changed forever. He has a unique way of exposing the weaknesses and drawing out the strengths in people. If your work ethic is good and you dedicate yourself to getting better, this is an important step in the journey and an incredibly unusual opportunity to get training to become a better trader.
As probably the only woman who has attended, let me assure others that you're perfectly safe and you definitely should go! Beneath that brutally honest exterior I've seen a heart of gold! Thanks, Ice Man, for everything! And I want you to know that your words of wisdom and insightful assessments are taken to heart. I will be forever grateful and I'm looking forward to applying everything I've learned.
Thanks Again,

Hello,
I'm about to head out from Boot Camp now with the Ice Man as I'm writing this. Thanks ICE for your help!! I'm sure the Ice Man will tell you if you ask him that I wasn't the best listener he has had in here but I'll tell you I learned a tremendous amount of trading knowledge I was lacking! It's impossible not to learn a great deal about trading if you do come here whether you listen perfectly or not. When you come here you have to have a strong desire to get better at trading, an open mind, and than have an introspective attitude about your faults and you will make more money when you leave guaranteed! I'm guaranteeing you'll make more money after coming here if you do the 3 things I mentioned above and even I know that there are "NO GUARANTEES" in stock market! :)
The Ice Man reveals an entire new way of perceiving the stock market that most of us never knew was there. It's clear to me now how little I knew about skillfully trading the market! Ice sets up virtually every trade he makes with the best odds you can have at that precise moment when the trade is placed. The man is up earlier than anyone chart reading and researching, researching, and researching! If he finds something interesting he then checks 10 stocks in that same sector to see how they are performing. Next he checks the option/call activity, the news, and than if it all checks out he will place a buy stop that only has him going long if the momentum is in his favor at that point.
Same to the short side. I've been putting in a bid at Scottrade for 5 years trying to guess where the bottom is that the stock is going to start going up again. I've always called myself a "momentum trader" so where is the momentum when I buy as the stock is going lower? This is just one small example of the many, many lessons to be learned here. Do not come here if you can't take some criticism and do not come here if you aren't able to adapt and make some changes. If you can do those things you should definitely come here and your trading results will improve dramatically!
Thanks Again,

My brother and I recently returned from the Ice Man's Boot Camp. To say the least, it was an invaluable opportunity to observe a professional trader in his element. Without doubt, the Ice Man is an astute, knowledgeable trader. More than a disciplined practitioner, his approach to trading can be likened to a composer directing an orchestra — paying close attention to every psychological 'note' of the market.
For those planning to attend Boot Camp, be cautioned to not expect a relaxing, leisurely atmosphere or experience. Instead, be prepared for 12 hour days starting premarket and — maybe — ending postmarket.
Oh yeah — if your skin is thin, then don't attend. If you do attend, you will leave with a wealth of knowledge and, find that 'Ice' is only the tip of the 'Iceberg.'
Thanks for sharing your experiences, expertise and hospitality, Ice Man.

I just got back from the Iceman's Boot camp, and if you have been at all thinking about going, you need to make plans to attend right away! I am extremely happy that I went. I already am a successful trader, making six figures easily. Yet, I am always hungry to learn more, to improve my skills, and to make more money. The Iceman helped me do this! He is like a great football coach. He knows more about the markets than a lot of so-called experts have forgotten, and he showed me how to apply it.
This is not merely some theoretical approach to trading, however useful that might be. Rather, what the Iceman teaches is down and dirty, practical, how to do it day in and day out trading! And, like a good coach, he can be hard on his players. Almost immediately, he identified several pretty significant weaknesses that I have as a trader and an investor. The Iceman knows human nature! Most significantly, he helped me identify several ways to make a lot of money using my present skills and contacts, ways that I had not even contemplated. Iceman, I will always be grateful to you for this!
Make plans to go to Boot camp now!

Hi Ice Man,
I got back a couple of hours ago. I just want to thank you for your generosity with your time and knowledge, and also for allowing me to stay in your home. It is very rare these days that someone would do that.
I know that I have a lot of work ahead for me, but after seeing a true master at work I'm determined to become a better trader if not a more knowledgeable one.
I hope to stay in touch with you. If you can provide any helpful information or advice I would always appreciate that. Again, thank you.
Best regards, Stephen

Iceman,
The 3 days I spent at your "Boot Camp" were extremely valuable and cannot be obtained anywhere else in the world.
As a Physician, I understand that following those that healed before me is more important than book learning. Clinical competence comes from a heart to heart relationship with your patients not just data interpretation. Just like people, every stock has its own behavior and that behavior can change on a dime, or in the case of a trade, it can change at the expense of thousands of dollars.
A trader must be willing to listen, see, and act simultaneously without emotion. He/she must develop their instincts, attitude, intensity, discipline, dedication, and understanding that trading and investing are two different things. Every day is a new day and in fact, the trade you won or lost on an hour ago means nothing. You absolutely cannot be the best trader you are capable of becoming without the Iceman's Boot Camp.
If you are sensitive...GET OVER IT and go to boot camp. Would you rather be sensitive or in charge of your own life. Boot camp is intense, exhausting, educational, and WORTH IT!
You must watch the Ice Man in action. You can't get this from a book, only from a guy who is willing to share his 40+ years of experience with you.

Iceman:
The boot camp experience was "all that" as others had posted before, and even MORE, and I am QUITE happy that I actually took the initiative to JUST GO and learned what I could. I was definitely NOT disappointed.
During the 3 days of watching and listening intently, I knew that your 40+ years experience of trading and knowing the ways of the "street" would just shine, and SHINE it did! As a Contrarian strategist with a photographic-like memory, you made incredible trades without writing much down and simultaneously remembering all the indices and hundreds of stocks on your screen, as they increased/decreased in a noteworthy manner.
It is a true ART as they say, and not a science! It certainly opened my eyes.
Thank you for opening your home and your hospitality, and for steering me to a variety of the proper tools and brokerages for the serious trader.
You are a good man with a good heart, and I wish you much success in all your charitable works.
Respectfully yours,
B. G.

"Iceman; When I headed for your "Boot Camp" I was not sure what to expect. After 3 days with you I can honestly say I was not disappointed. In my many years in corporate management I prescribed a sales training course for all of our sales personnel titled The Psychology of Selling. At boot camp, I learned the Psychology of Trading. Trading is more than technique, it is also a mental state.
For the first time I truly appreciated the difference between trading and investing. The intensity, dedication and learned instincts were clearly evidenced by your actions and wisdom. Many thanks for opening your home and yourself.
My Best to you and Ice Cold Stocks."

“Iceman, I want to take a moment an thank you for sharing your time, knowledge and home with me while I was at your BOOT CAMP. Prior to coming to your boot camp I was making a lot of money on the trades that you recommenced. But this was done not knowing how to trade the right way! I do not know of anyone who would do that for a perfect stranger. As I told you , my wife was worried that you would be an ax murderer!!! What a relief she had when I told her that you were not only a regular guy, but a very generous man as well. I have so much to say about you that I will try to keep it simple. I will sum it up this way.
“If you want to learn about investing, buy a book by WARREN BUFFET, if you want to learn how to trade, go to the ICEMAN'S free boot camp.
“I have paid thousands of dollars on different 2-3 day sessions on how to trade. Your boot camp is worth at least 25K, if not more. Don't be insulted at the 25k remark!
“Now, please do not start charging for the camp, because I hope I can convince you to let me come back for a refresher in 6-12 months!!! (Please).
“To be able to sit, watch and do some trading, with a 40 year pro, you can not put a price tag on that! I only have the best of things to say about you and your staff.
“When I hopped on the airplane back to Philly, I listened to your tape recordings and the light bulb went off! I really do get it. I am now a trader, the ICEMAN style.
“If ever you need a recommendation for a future student to be, make sure you give them my number.
All the best.
P.S. - If people reading icecoldstocks.net do not take advantage of your BOOT CAMP, they should not be trading! 'Cramer who!!!!' ” J.N.

“First, let me extend my appreciation for the opportunity to attend boot camp, observe the Iceman in action, and learn from the Michael Jordan of investment. For those of you considering boot camp, understand that the Iceman has expectations with regard to basic prior knowledge and if you feel you need additional preparation, use the resources he presents in his education section.
“Iceman's boot camp makes Paris Island look like a picnic. Be prepared for intense argumentative interaction. Be sure to pack you helmet and flack vest. He expects, and rightly so, a total commitment on your part to work and absorb what he has to impart without question. This is a top/down interaction — remember 'you know nothing.'
“With that said, it was a highly educational experience, which gives you a clear understanding of how the traders work. I feel I left with a better knowledge of the tools used by the professionals, insight into the logic and thought process they use to outwit the general market (i.e. avoid reacting to the news while evaluating who will benefit from it), and a better understanding of the gladiators in this arena.
“Boot camp was intense and enlightening and I want to thank the Iceman for this opportunity.” — S. B.

“A few things I learned at the Iceman's Boot Camp:
1. The Iceman is ALWAYS right!
2. If for some unknown reason you get the impression that you have a different and/or better idea, refer to Rule #1.
3. If you can't afford to LOSE big, don't TRADE big.
4. Whether it's the market, a sector, or a stock, it's either in a BULL trend or a BEAR trend. Trade accordingly.
5. If you don't understand why a trade IS (or IS NOT) going to work, you have NO business making it.
6. If you can't (or won't) learn how to read charts, take your hard earned money to Las Vegas, where you will at least get free drinks.
7. If Michael Jordan offered to teach you how to play basketball or Paul McCartney offered you songwriting lessons (FOR FREE!!!) and you would turn them down? You can use the same logic to ignore the Iceman's offer to help you become a better trader.” – Eron Epstein
