Richard, the Break Man

Richard, the Breakout Buyer

These setups are mostly break out plays to buy at the prices mentioned and take profits on the way up or sell all the first day if you like. The main idea is to buy as close to break out point or support as possible so you can keep a tight stop in case of intra-day reversals.

In a bull market some setups are also on stocks that had good moves up on strong volume and have pulled back to support on light volume. We also have shorts that we sell when the breakdown price is reached. In all cases the trades work better if the moves are associated with high volume. Learning to take some profits quickly then setting tight stops is a way to keep winners from turning into losers.

If your own trading platform does not have price alert built in you can use many programs such as the free Quotetracker to keep track of these stocks.
