Course 1: Becoming an Analyst 101

Financial statements are the basis for a wide range of business analysis. Securities analysts use them to rate and value companies they recommend. Bankers use them as a basis for loan decisions. This is the first course in a two-part series dealing with security analysis. We will cover

• Financial Analysis
• Prospective Analysis

The goal is not to create an army of analysts, but to make you aware of the type of analysis done at this level. My goal is to make you a good consumer of financial information. After you complete this module, you should be able to perform a detailed analysis of any company's financial statements and develop your own opinion.
